Berlinale Co-Production Market

The programme structure of the Berlinale Co-Production Market is thoroughly tailored for its professional audience: producers and financiers from all over the world with different backgrounds of experience, but like-minded interests. The programme structure takes into account that each participant has their own busy agenda during the Berlinale with different amounts of time available for attending the event.

Theme Talk 2010
Around the pre-scheduled one-on-one meetings between the producers of the selected projects and potential co-producers and financiers, there is a diverse complimentary programme allowing each participant to put together his or her own schedule:

Case Studies on current financing strategies and trends, Theme Talks at which experts and interested producers can exchange ideas on selected topics, informal Speed Matching sessions, workshops and Country Tables where experts give information about co-production opportunities in their countries. All of these events offer numerous opportunities to gather information and make new contacts.

The Producers’ Lounge in the Berlin House of Representatives has also become a favoured meeting point to independently set up meetings for many of the 450 participants.
Film and Books
On the third day of the Berlinale Co-Production Market, representatives of the book publishing industry meet with registered producers interested in pre-selected literary material at a joint breakfast. At "Breakfast & Books" under the umbrella of the Berlinale Co-Production Market, representatives of publishing houses and literary agents present new, selected works that are especially well suited for screen adaptation. After the project pitchings, interested producers can talk directly to the film rights holders.
