All films at the European Film Market and the Festival are converted into consistent data files and screened from cinema servers. This technology, generally known as E-Cinema, brings a range of benefits to Market participants. More media formats can be submitted and screenings are run with a higher degree of safety and reliability.
The EFM takes several safety precautions to ensure maximum security of submitted film data. All files are encrypted and only distributed within the Festival's screening locations and onto servers owned by the Festival.
If you are submitting films to the EFM, please note:
- All DVD and Blu-Ray media must be unencrypted.
- It is crucial that screening material is available at least 3 days before the first screening of a film.
- The final screening material entry deadline is February 1, 2010.
