The EFM offers top quality screening facilities for several film and video formats in 39 comfortable state-of-the-art cinemas. Almost all EFM venues are conveniently located within walking distance in and around Potsdamer Platz. The EFM also provides a free continuous shuttle service between cinemas to make getting around even easier.

CinemaxX
Potsdamer Straße 5 10785 Berlin, Entrance Voxstraße
CinemaxX has been the main Berlinale cinema since 2000. It was built as part of the new development of Potsdamer Platz and opened in 1998. It offers all the advantages of a well-equipped multiplex cinema. No other EFM screening facility offers so many cinemas situated so close together, allowing one to move quickly between the 19 CinemaxX cinemas.

CineStar
CineStar, located in the Sony Center at Potsdamer Platz, is after the nearby CinemaxX, the second most important Berlinale cinema. The close proximity of the auditoriums to one another creates a great festival atmosphere, which many visitors find especially charming. CineStar has a fully-equipped bar, which can also be accessed from the foyer of the neighbouring Arsenal cinema.

MGB Cinema
The MGB Cinema is located in the lower level of the Martin-Gropius-Bau, the venue of international exhibitions the main EFM exhibition facility during the Berlinale. The renaissance building was constructed in 1881 and restored in the 1970s. It is located in walking-distance from the festival headquarters at Potsdamer Platz. The fully-equipped 200-seat, HD compatible theatre is an attractive venue for EFM screenings because of its direct connection to the market stands. The MGB Cinema is also home of the screenings of the Culinary Cinema.

Marriott 1 – 3
The deluxe Marriott Hotel offers an additional high quality exhibition space and is situated right in the heart of the festival at the Potsdamer Platz. The three comfortable screening rooms are located on the first floor and offer video screenings only.

Arsenal Cinemas (Filmhaus)
The Arsenal belongs to the "Arsenal - Institute for Film and Video Art" (formerly "Friends of the German Film Archive"), which is situated in the lower level of the "Filmhaus" at Potsdamer Platz. The space offers two screens equipped with comfortable seating and the latest technology. From here it is possible to take a shortcut directly to CineStar cinemas.

dffb Cinema (Filmhaus)
The dffb Cinema is part of the dffb, Germany’s first film academy, and is well-equipped with modern film and video technology. The dffb Cinema is located on the 9th Floor of the "Filmhaus" and presents a fantastic view over the inner court of the Sony Center. It is situated next to the cosy dffb coffee bar, where one can rest while taking in the bustling atmosphere of Potsdamer Platz. The cinemas Arsenal and CineStar are directly accessible from the lower level of the "Filmhaus".

Parliament Studio Berlin House of Representatives
Niederkirchnerstraße 5 10111 Berlin, Entrance across from the Martin-Gropius-Bau
The Parliament Studio is located in the Berlin House of Representatives opposite the Martin-Gropius-Bau, the main venue of the EFM. The building is regarded as an architectural symbol of the Wilhemenian era and is also the venue of the Berlinale Co-Production Market. By crossing the street, you can switch from the ever-busy atrium of the Martin-Gropius-Bau to the calm and exclusive atmosphere of the Parliament Studio.

Cubix Cinemas
The Cubix, located in front of the famous television tower is a brand new venue for the EFM. It has been used since 2007 as a venue for the Berlinale and creates a wonderful festival atmosphere, especially at night with a stunning panoramic view of Alexanderplatz. Twenty minutes before the EFM-screenings start, shuttle busses take you directly from the Mirror Restaurant to the cinema. Additionally the U2 subway line is only a fifteen minute ride to Potsdamer Platz.
