Almost all EFM venues are conveniently located within walking distance in and around Potsdamer Platz. CinemaxX has been the main Berlinale cinema since 2000. It was built as part of the new development of Potsdamer Platz and opened in 1998. The MGB Cinema is located in the lower level of the Martin-Gropius-Bau, the venue of international exhibitions the main EFM exhibition facility during the Berlinale. ASTOR Film Lounge The cinema is used for 3D screenings in 2k/RealD. The cinema is accessible to wheelchairs.
Built in the late 40s and reconstructed in the early 50s of the last century, this luxurious movie theatre was completely refurbished in 2008. Today it is not only fitted with state-of-the art technical equipment but also provides the most comfortable, roomy leather chairs and spacious aisles in town - an ideal location for 3D screenings.
