1. Selection of films
The EFM reserves the right to prioritise films, that:
- are submitted by EFM Exhibitors (Stands and Offices)
- are selected by the Berlin International Film Festival (Competition, Panorama, Forum, Generation)
- have their market premiere at the EFM 2012
- were theatrically released after January 1, 2011
- were produced after January 1, 2011
- have screened in only one other international film market
The following films are excluded from participation in the EFM, if they:
- have already participated in the EFM or in the Berlin International Film Festival in previous years
- films which infringe legal judgements or international conventions
- short and medium-length films which cannot be grouped in sessions of at least one hour's duration
- were produced before January 1, 2010
Please note: Films that have been screened at both the 2011 AFM and the 2011 Cannes Marché du Film are ineligible for participation in the EFM 2012. Films that have been screened in the 2011 Cannes Marché du Film will be scheduled based on the availability of screening slots
The organisers of the EFM refrain from any qualitative evaluation of films screened.
2. Scheduling of films
The EFM reserves the right to schedule films as it sees fit, however, we will make an effort to accommodate scheduling requests.
Screening dates will be announced as of mid-January.
As a rule, a maximum of two screenings per film are permitted, with only one screening per film on the first weekend (Friday February 10, 2012 - Sunday February 12, 2012).
The EFM gives priority to feature length theatrical films.
Programmes of short and medium-length films (under 45 minutes):
- are only presented on the last two screening days of the EFM (Feb 15 - 16, 2012)
- will be shown in video format
- will be grouped in sessions
3. Screening of films
The organisers of the EFM cannot be held responsible for delays or cancellations of screenings if the technical data provided by the participants are incomplete or inaccurate, especially the running time of the film.
In exceptional cases, the sales company may request the EFM management to limit access to their screening by means of an admission control and by not listing it in the EFM screening schedule.
For further information please contact:
