Monday for Mindfulness in the Media Landscape

Berlinale Industry Events

Access: Market Badge & Online Market Badge

The EFM continues its pathway in addressing and supporting the issue of mental health in the media industry. Following last year's think tank report 'Shaping Change', this year EFM and its partners invite all guests to enter the Room of Stillness and find time for rest, reflection and a Monday dedicated to Mindfulness while participating in the film market.

Changing the work environment in our industry to a healthier one – with less stress, burnout, self-harm and people quitting for good – might be a long-term investment that takes time, years, as well as a structural change. But what we can all do here and now is to uitilise our own, individual approach to how we work, how we act in the industry, and how we rest and recharge. Little changes in our daily routine can make a huge difference in the long run. The necessary rest can in itself be the first step to a positive change.

If you want to dive deeper into this topic, we also recommend to tune into our podcast episode “Unlocking Creativity in a Healthier Workplace” here, and to read the Nostradamus Report 2022 (by Göteborg Film Festival) as well as the Looking Glass Study (by Film & TV Charity).

These three meditation sessions take place at the Documentation Centre in the room of stillness at
