on-site only

This case study workshop explores the creative and commercial value of international co-production through The Amazing Maurice 2, the sequel to the successful animated feature based on Terry Pratchett’s work.

Producers Andrew Baker (Cantilever Media, UK), Emely Christians (Ulysses Filmproduktion, Germany) and Creative Lead Robert Chandler share first-hand insights into building and managing a UK–Germany partnership that strengthened both creative ambition and financial resilience.

The session examines how the co-production was structured, from financing strategies and partner alignment to managing cross-border production workflows while maintaining a unified creative vision. Speakers will discuss how international collaboration enabled access to wider talent pools, funding opportunities and markets, while balancing creative leadership across territories.

Presented as a moderated panel with audience Q&A, the workshop offers practical lessons for producers and creatives looking to develop internationally collaborative projects. Attendees will gain concrete insight into how co-production can unlock scale, manage risk and deliver ambitious animated features in a competitive global market.
