Immersive Zone Sessions - Day 5

Berlinale Industry Events

Access: Market Badge

Mon Feb 16 10:00 – 19:00 EFM Innovation & Producers Hub at Gropius Bau
on-site only

The Immersive Zone offers a focused, industry-driven entry point into contemporary XR storytelling, production and market opportunities.

Designed specifically for producers, buyers and decision-makers, it introduces a market-oriented viewing system. Visitors book structured viewing slots, enabling efficient and comparable encounters with a curated slate of immersive works — similar to classic film market screenings.

All projects are selected for narrative strength, artistic quality and production value, while also illustrating viable business models. The showcased works demonstrate how immersive media is moving beyond experimentation toward sustainable formats such as exhibitions, location-based entertainment and hybrid distribution models.

The projects are divided into three seperate stations: ANOTHER UNIVERSE, EMBODIED STORIES and REALITIES IN BETWEEN.

Book 60 minute slots and explore a curated selection of XR experiences. EMBODIED STORIES will also be available as a walk-in station.

Available time slots can be seen and booked via the booking tool (see button displayed at the end of this page). Access requires login with your MyAccount details.
Bookings can be viewed and managed in the Agenda section of the booking tool platform. If you are unable to attend, please cancel your reservation to allow others to book the open slot.

ANOTHER UNIVERSE
PC VR Station

ANOTHER UNIVERSE brings together cinematic VR, interactive fiction and narrative adventure to explore the artistic and emotional range of contemporary immersive storytelling.

From handcrafted fantasy worlds and underwater journeys to socially charged story spaces, the programme spans diverse narrative approaches — from La Fille qui Explose to The Sad Story of the Little Mouse Who Wanted to Become Somebody, Echoes of Mora and From the Main Square.

Across these works, themes of youth and rage, ambition and alienation, memory and loss unfold through embodied interaction, highlighting VR as a mature storytelling medium beyond spectacle.
