The Toolbox Programme is an immersive tailor-made programme which supports underrepresented producers from around the world to gain first-hand, real-world experience at the European Film Market.
It features one-on-one-mentorship by industry experts as well as in-depth industry know-how and connections via workshops, matchmaking events, community-building sessions and networking possibilities. EFM Toolbox, as the only programme of its type at an international film market, offers participants the chance to gain practical knowledge of the international film market, expand networks, and, ultimately, aid in reaching the next stage of their career.
The EFM does not choose participants directly, instead, participants are nominated to attend by the programme’s partner organisations.
Toolbox alumni include Leah Chen Baker, producer of The President’s Cake, the 2025 Caméra d’Or and the Iraqi entry to the Academy Awards 2026, as well as Gilberet Mirambeau and Gaethan Chancy, producers of the Sundance 2024 Haitian film Kidnapping Inc.
