The Evolution of the Arthouse Exhibition
The film industry is at a point of resetting. This panel, bringing together representatives of the film industry and policy makers, aims at reimagining the industry.
The opening question is how the sector can be reshaped, by looking at collaborative efforts, new projects, as well as at the value of interpersonal connection and digital offers.
It is also an occasion to look at how the arthouse exhibition is staying at top of the game, arthouse cinemas engaging their audiences at their best.
Johanna Koljonen, author of the Nostradamus report, will moderate this round table, which welcomes "on stage" Christian Bräuer - Managing Director of the Yorck Kino Gruppe in Berlin & Chair of the CICAE, Daniela Elstner - Managing Director of Unifrance, Niklas Nienaß - Member of the EU Parliament, Roberto Olla - Executive Director of Eurimages, Mira Staleva - Deputy Director of the Sofia International Film Festival and Cinema House and Harald Trettenbrein - Head of the MEDIA unit at the Education, Audiovisual & Culture Executive Agency.
The event is organised by CICAE (the International Confederation of Arthouse Cinemas), which represents over 2100 worldwide. The network main objectives are, among the others, to encourage arthouse cinemas to come together under a common umbrella at the national and international level, and to obtain support for arthouse films from government bodies.
The association is also organiser of the arthouse cinema training course "Art Cinema = Action + Management", co-funded by Creative Europe MEDIA programme, addressed to arthouse exhibitors and film professionals interested in getting a better knowledge of the exhibition sector.
