Join our informative talks, workshops and networking events at our new location!
The Documentation Centre for Displacement, Expulsion, Reconciliation will host the EFM Industry Sessions 2023. In walking distance to Gropius Bau, the Documentation Centre will be your spot to gain knowledge on highly topical industry issues, network with peers and connect with experts in a unique setting where modern architecture meets a fascinating view on European history.
Opened in 2021, the Documentation Centre is a unique place of learning and remembrance on the topics of displacement, expulsion and forced migration, especially in Europe and the 20th century. The supporting organisation of the Documentation Centre is the Federal Foundation for Displacement, Expulsion, Reconciliation.
At the Documentation Centre, you will find several spots associated with the EFM:
Event Hall: The main event area for talk formats and presentations.
Café Connect: The room for connecting formats (Meet The Festivals and Consult The Experts) as well as the Archive Market. The Café space is ideal for informal meetings, to work or relax with a nice cup of coffee. The room also serves as a meeting point for all members of the documentary industry.
Room of Stillness: This 100 square metre large room offers a safe space for contemplation, while the introverted atmosphere helps you to centre focus during busy market days.
If you want to learn more on the history of displacement and forced migration, we highly recommend you visit the permanent exhibition. The permanent exhibition looks at politically, ethnically and religiously motivated forced migrations in the 20th century in Europe and beyond.
