Case Study: International Co-Production THE UGLY STEPSISTER by Emilie Blichfeldt
Berlinale Industry Events
Access: CoPro Participants & Market Badge

Fairytales can come true: Raising a 5-million Euro budget project for a first-time feature, getting together to joyfully make the film with a group of high-profile co-producers in a 4-country co-production, and then premiering it at Sundance and at the Berlinale to great trade reviews, with world sales and US distribution already attached – sounds almost too good? What were the challenges though on this 10-year journey from idea to screen? Two of the producers, the sales agent and the UK/US distributor will speak about how they got enchanted, persistence and the obstacles they had to overcome when making this outstanding body horror film. This event takes place at the Stage Room of the Octogon.
