New Initiatives at EFM 2015

Drama Series Days

As the first major international film market of the year, the EFM is looked to as an early indicator for what’s to come. 2015 brings with it a number of exciting new initiatives to the EFM including Drama Series Days, a spotlight on Asia with Bridging the Dragon, EFM Startups, and programme expansions providing additional networking and business opportunities for producers.

The EFM and the Berlinale Co-Production Market are proud to bring the best in high-quality drama series to Berlin for Drama Series Days at the Market, taking place on February 9 and 10. This initiative includes a home base in the EFM Buyers Lounge as well as special screenings and a range of talks and events showcasing the latest industry trends and developments from Germany, Europe and North America.

Bridging The Dragon

Partnering with the newly launched co-production platform “Bridging the Dragon” for European and Chinese producers, the EFM will host round-table, panel and matchmaking events on Tuesday, February 10. Together we are working to organize future events in China and Europe, creating new opportunities to co-produce and create strong content for both markets. Don’t miss the kickoff Industry Debate Saturday, February 7, focusing on Chinese online video platforms and their hugely successful business models.

EFM Startups

EFM Startups is a new initiative with great growth potential. At the centre of Europe’s most exciting startup hub, the EFM takes Berlin’s leading entrepreneurs and connects them with the film and audiovisual media industries. In its first year, EFM Startups will match 10 startup entrepreneurs with EFM participants during a breakfast, followed by pre-arranged one-on-one meetings.

EFM Buyers Lounge & EFM Producers

Supporting these initiatives with a focus on developing new platforms designed to better meet the needs of producers attending the Market, the EFM is expanding its infrastructure with two exclusive meeting points: the EFM Buyers' Lounge and the EFM Producers Hub, both at Martin-Gropius-Bau.
