From Book IP to Screen: Expanding from one to three pitching sessions
Celebrating 20 years of Books at Berlinale, the programme enters its next chapter in 2027 as Books at Berlinale Pro, expanding the established format from one pitching session to three focused sessions for book IP.
Jointly presented by Frankfurter Buchmesse, the Berlinale Co-Production Market and the European Film Market, Books at Berlinale Pro brings together international publishers, literary agencies and producers to discover new stories, explore adaptation potential and connect with potential production partners.
For its 2027 edition, Books at Berlinale Pro features three pitching sessions dedicated to Fiction, Family Entertainment and Non-Fiction. Alongside the established Books at Berlinale format for fiction, rights holders can now submit children’s and young adult books with potential for animation or live-action adaptation, as well as non-fiction titles with potential for documentary adaptation.
